Affall- small river with big salmon

There are many large salmon to be caughtin the Alfall River in the south of Iceland.

The Affall River is a rather small river in the south  of Iceland with many clear water pools containing good fish. This river is over 17 km long with 4 rods.

Since 2002 the Alfall River has been stocked it with many salmon smelt with quite a lot of success. 

Over 1000 salmon have been caught in recent years on only four rods.  The average number of salmon caught per year is over 700 fish. 

The river is ideal for fly fishing  but anglers can use worms although spin fishing is not alowed. 

Season: from  1st July till 27th of October.
